Religious Life

Perhaps the greatest attribute of Mount Zion College is the diversity of its student body and faculty. We provide students with opportunities for worship, fellowship, and personal development. They encourage students to be themselves, to remember and reflect on their religious heritage, and to take part in organizing programs.

The Office of the College Chaplain, serves as the headquarters of religious life at MZ and promotes an atmosphere of openness and interfaith dialogue among all faith groups. The Office of the College Chaplain responds to the spiritual needs of students, faculty, staff, and others and includes Chaplains who are available for pastoral counseling. Students help members of the Mount Zion College community in sharing in their faith tradition. You are free to follow your own faith and traditions.

Below are some of the many faiths found on campus.

Seventh Day Adventist Church

The S.D.A Church offers Christian worship, Bible study, counseling, fellowship, and educational outreach programs. A Vesper Service is held Friday evenings on the college premises, and Sabbath School and Divine Service are held on Saturday mornings at the Mount Zion Matriculation School Hall or the S.D.A Tamil Church, every week. In addition to this, the students have organized a Tuesday Prayer Group, that meets on the college premises to pray for the needs of the students. The Church sponsors worship services, retreats, Bible study, prayer groups, counseling, a variety of social events, and much more. Students from other faiths are welcome to attend the services. Hindus on Campus

We have a large number of students who share the Hindu faith.

Islamic Community

We also have a large Muslim community on campus.
