Eligibility Criteria for
B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch Degree Courses
Eligibility as Per Tamil Nadu
Government Norms
Qualifying Exam
The student has to appear for
AIEEE or TNPCEE or Common Entrance Test.
A pass in HSC (Academic) / CBSE / Pre-degree /
Plus Two level / equivalent with minimum eligibility marks in
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
OR
A pass with minimum eligibility marks in one of the HSC (Vocational
Stream) with Engineering / Technology as Vocational subjects and any
one or two of the related subjects like Mathematics, Physics or
Chemistry.
OR
Any other equivalent qualification approved by the State Board of
Technical Education and Training / Higher Secondary Board of Tamil
Nadu and Universities in Tamil Nadu.
Minimum Eligibility Marks
The minimum eligibility Marks
are as follows:

SC/ST candidates:
For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the
qualifying examination will suffice and the minimum marks are
the same as the passing minimum for HSC and diploma exams of the
State Board of Tamil Nadu.

Other Communities:
Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST
should have obtained the following minimum marks:
For backward and most backward
candidates from Tamil Nadu, the minimum percentages of marks for
admission to B.E./ B.Arch./ B.Tech are as follows:

Backward Community:
An average of 55% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Most Backward
Community: An average of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics
and Chemistry.
NOTE:
-
Candidates from other
states irrespective of their community, will be considered only
as OC (Other Community) for the purpose of considering the
minimum eligibility marks.
-
All candidates except CBSE
students who have passed the qualifying exam from other states
should produce an Eligibility Certificate from Anna University
before admission.
Number of Attempts
FC/BC/MBC/DC candidates should have scored the
above marks in not more than 2 appearances and SC/ST candidates in
not more than 3 appearances.
Age Rules

Applicants should not have completed 21 years
of age as on 1st July for the respective academic year.

Tamil Nadu SC/ST
candidates : No age limit.

Physically handicapped candidates should not
have completed 26 years as on 1st July.
-
Age shall be determined based only on the
date of birth as given in SSLC / HSC or an equivalent
examination certificate.
