Administration
The college is run by very able and efficient
administration.
The Mount Zion Christian Educational Trust was
started in 1988 by a group of eminent
educationalists, who have devoted their life to providing quality
education to the rural community. Its first educational institution was Mount Zion
Matriculation Higher Secondary School. The school is situated at
Pudukkottai. It is rated to be the best school in the district
and has 1700 students on its rolls.
It consistently outperforms other schools in the
district and region not only academically - but also in sports.
It's illustrious alumni are occupying prime responsibilities as doctors,
software engineers, etc and those who are still students in various
medical and engineering colleges are trailing a golden blaze in their
wake.
Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology was
started in 2001. It is a fledgling institution which shows great
promise. The Chairman, Mr. Jayabarathan Chelliah has an M.A. in
Educational Administration from Loma Linda University, U.S.A. He has
over 35 years of experience in heading many educational institutions.
His service since 1966 as Principal, Education
Director, South India Union of Seventh Day Adventists, Bangalore, his
post graduate degree in Educational Administration from Loma Linda
University, California, U.S.A., and the service here in Pudukkottai has
given him the much needed sense of direction and vision in launching the
college. In recognition of his outstanding service to the society, the
Tamil Nadu government honored him with the Dr. Radhakrishnan Award on
September 5, 2003.
The trustees too are educationists who are interested
deeply in bringing the light of knowledge to everyone.
